There’s stories in everyone and everything, waiting to be told. While I wasn’t there for the beginning of these stories, I am glad I got to tell a part of their tales and journeys.
Voor Anneke Sluiters (37) was acteren altijd al een roeping, een diep verlangen om verhalen te vertellen en rollen te vertolken. Ze groeide op in het Noord- Limburgse Blitterswijck maar woont al lange tijd in het bruisende Amsterdam. Daar verkent ze voortdurend artistieke grenzen en acteert ze met verve. Af en toe moet ze zichzelf even knijpen om te beseffen dat ze dit werk mag doen; voor haar is het een onrealistische droom die werkelijkheid is geworden. Het grote publiek kent haar onder andere van haar rol als Carolien in Flikken Rotterdam. En met Halloween in aantocht schittert Anneke ook in de hoofdrol van de Nederlandse horrorfilm Witte Wieven, waarin ze het mysterie van de Nederlandse folklore tot leven brengt. Navenant zocht haar op voor een goed gesprek.
When Grayscale released The Hart earlier this year, it marked their first new album since 2021’s Umbra. Years of life experience and reflection poured into The Hart; it features something more raw, vulnerable and brutally honest in its writing. “I think this record, out of the four we have, is the most storytelling-oriented,” frontman Collin Walsh says.
Lucy Fabienne plays country-pop music for wandering hearts and wannabe cowboys. With her signature vibrato, she sings about growing up in a small town, mental health issues, faith, and being queer. Her mission is to offer outsiders a safe haven. She has previously performed on stages such as 013, Het Paard, and De Helling.
Her first singles “Short Circuit” and “Elusive” released in 2025.
‘Dominee Becker’ noemen ze hem wel eens in het Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, waaraan hij sinds 1992 is verbonden, vanaf 2006 als hoofdconservator tentoonstel-lingen. Met onstuitbaar enthousiasme en onweerstaanbare charme zet Edwin Becker (60) zich in voor zijn ideaal: mensen mee-nemen in zijn boeiende verhaal over de verrijkende kracht en overrompelende pracht van kunst.
Als we elkaar ontmoeten zit Renée van Wegberg al lang en breed aan de Chardonnay. Eentje die ze echt lekkervindt, met veel boter en hout! Van Wegberg is een Nederlandse zangeres en musicalen stemactrice, bekend van onder andere haar vertolking van Liesbeth List en haar vele liedjesprogramma’s. De komende maanden toert ze door Nederland met haar eigen productie #PERFECT. “Wel jammer dat we dit voorjaar Limburg niet aan doen”, moet ze toegeven, “Helmond is waarschijnlijk nog het dichtstbijzijnd”.
The Rubber Teeth Talk will be the third studio album by Daisy The Great, an indie pop band from New York led by the vocal harmonies of two talented women. After spending nearly a decade as a band, they see this album as a continuation of their earlier work. “I don’t think it’s a complete departure,” Kelley said. “But I definitely see us growing. This record ties to our earlier music, but we’re doing it in a way that matches the performance level that we’ve come to feel represents us, with the more playful and super creative side we started writing with.”
In celebration of the acceptance of their graduating students to prestigious drama academies, VTA wanted to showcase their talent on their website through cinematic ‘stills’. These are based on stills from famous films like ‘The Reader’, ‘Adaptation’ or ‘Black Swan’.

Flawes are a British indie rock band that have been making waves with their infectious beats and introspective lyrics. Comprised of lead vocalist JC, drummer Huss, and guitarist Freddie, the trio has been together since 2015 and has released an album and an EP with a brand new album One Step Back, Two Steps Forward releasing on the 9th of June. In this interview, we sit down with Flawes to discuss their new album, their personal lives, and how they balance it all while on tour.
